I have been very blessed to grow up with a heritage of music and worship on both sides of my family.

My father traveled in a singing group while still a teenager, and my mom, who sang, and played piano and clarinet growing up, always said I cut my teeth on a microphone. I think I absorbed the heart of worship by osmosis, just being around my dad while he was leading worship. I learned to harmonize by listening to my mom and dad and aunt rehearse songs for church.

My first performance as a singer was at age 4, in a group of four little girls called the Dew Drops. (I'll have to throw some video up of that!) :) I was in my first musical theater production at age 5; I fell in love with theater at that time, and have never gotten over it, since!

Then followed years of singing at church, piano and clarinet lessons, and school plays, finally leading to my pursuit of a music degree at Gordon College.

I filled blank books with poetry and rhyming stories while growing up, but did not write my first song until I was 18. I have been writing songs about my journey with God ever since, but only rarely were any of those songs heard outside of my own living room. I have also written songs for my kids, to help them hide God's word in their hearts, and also written music for musical theater.

My first recording (other than a couple CD's made as gifts for family at Christmas), was Sweet Fragrance, a 5 song EP of original songs that grew out of my conversations with God while sitting at the piano. God prompted and then provided for the making of that CD in amazing ways, and the song I am Redeemed from that album was chosen for the Vineyard's Eastern Crop CD project in 2008. I was very blessed to have Sweet Fragrance end up in CD players in far away places like Florida and Japan!

This new CD, My Song, is a collection of 11 new songs, and includes the musical giftings of my husband Rich Gouette, my brother Luke Stevens, and Dan Merrill from Studio 19.

God has been so faithful to meet with me through these songs, I hope that they enable you to connect with Him, too!
Be Blessed!
